Description

ha ha! i kept this one big on purpose this time because of the patterns and details! the pattern on the boots came from here tho

Name: Kateb

Age: 12 (and a half!)

Passed: 285th Hunter Exam (#451)

Nen Type: Manipulator

Abilities:
Story Time: Kateb writes a story as he goes, often staying out of sight of his target. What he writes comes true to his target, within reason. He can't conjure up characters or props, but he can control them enough to affect his target.
Conditions
-To activate his power, he has to get his target to say the lines "Once upon a time". From there, it's virtually free game.
-Kateb must build to greater actions. Beginning actions might be as simple as walking along a path, but later actions may include jumping in front of cars. (Later in his training, he can employ some transmutation techniques and give his targets certain powers in order to fulfill the writing, such as gaining the ability to walk on water to cross a river).
-The 'story' ends when the target says something along the lines of "the end" or "happily ever after", etc., or when Kateb writes it.
--Actions happen once Kateb finishes the sentence, meaning actions can only happen as fast as Ketb can write (luckily he's a fast writer).
--He can only write in one book at a time. If he closes the book, it's over. He doesn't know what happens if he runs out of pages.
--There's no indication to the target what's happening to them.
--Kateb CAN lose sight of his target without losing Story Time's effect, but he would never do that since he couldn't make the target naturally interact with the environment.
--He doesn't know how far away he can be from a target before the effect is gone, but it seems to be pretty far.

Hunter Type: Story Hunter (Probably not a real thing but who cares)

Backstory: A baby was found, abandoned in the desert and nearly dead. It had a horribly disfigured mouth, leading some to believe it was cursed. A troupe of vagabonds, wayward travellers with no home, took the baby in, naming it Kateb. Kateb grew up with the vagabonds, and although some were still cautious of his deformities, most accepted him with open arms, treating him like their own son.
On a trip through a college town, Kateb learned how to speak with his hands (before he could only use vague indications of what he wanted to say, since his deformities keep him from speaking).
Kateb was particularly close to one man who would occasionally meet up with the vagabonds (they called him "Cousin", since no one knew his real name at the time). Cousin would tell him stories, and he always had the best ones. Even the adults were entertained by his stories of great adventures or wild beasts. He's the one who taught Kateb to read and write, so he could write down his own stories, since he couldn't speak them. Kateb practiced by dictating what Cousin told him, which made him the fastest writer in the country, he was sure. He has a book of Cousin's stories, which he always carries around with him.
Cousin also taught Kateb how to learn languages. He didn't teach him any, but Cousin believed it was necessary for Kateb to understand what people are saying. Before he left for the last time, he told Kateb he would come back with the best story anyone would ever hear.
When months went by without a visit from Cousin, worry spread through the troupe. It was finally learned that he had died on his journey. Kateb and his troupe tried to get his notebooks, but they had been taken by the Hunter's Association. This was how Kateb learned that Cousin was a Hunter. Kateb was told that only other Hunters could have access to the notebooks. Kateb applied on the spot. His troupe didn't protest-- they knew there was no stopping him. He had to stand on his toes just to reach the desk to fill it out.
On the train to the first testing site, Kateb met Rosa, who was the only one who understood his sign language. Rosa almost immediately felt a bond with Kateb, like that of siblings. They stuck together through the first portions of the exam. They met Zabanza and Pachi during the second half of the first portion of the exam, stuck in a never-ending elevator with them.
    idk the rest yet</b>
